Unusual 1940's Brown Alligator Accordion Style Purse w/Leather Ties

This vintage purse is great looking & unique.

The large diamond shapes are done in various alligator skins; the design is the same on both sides. There are two 11" soft brown leather ties at the end which opens/closes the purse. The handle has an approx. 5" drop. The top of the handle is alligator and the underside is brown leather. When opened, the purse features four sections, two with zippers and two with snaps. The brown leather inside is buttery soft. Each of the four sections is lined in brown taffeta & is approx. 5 ¼" deep & 8 ½" wide. One of the zippers has a thin leather pull, the other does not.

The overall condition is excellent. The alligator skins are in wonderful condition and not brittle. The purse is free of tears, stains & odors. This purse appears to have been used very little or possibly not at all. The overall size, from the top of the handle to the ties (tied in a bow & not loose), is approx. 12". It is 9 ½" wide & 1 ¾" deep. The handle is 1" wide at the top and gradually tapers to ½".
