Antique French Micro Beaded Floral Purse w/Marcasites & Cabochon Clasp-NEVER USED w/Made in France HANG TAG

The purse is done in gorgeous rich glass beads in blue, black, with peach flowers; the beads glisten! The bottom fringe is blue and is completely intact, with no strands missing.

The gold frame on the front only, features marcasites along the side & top edges; one marcasite is missing on the left edge (see pic) and there is age related darkening of some of the marcasites. The top of the clasp features a deep blue cabochon stone, with gold filigree surrounding it. There is a 1" long ornate gold "pull". The gold metal frame is in "like new" condition, with absolutely no sign of wear/age.

The original hang tag reads: Made in France on one side & the number 28, written in pencil, on the other.

The original lining is done in cream silk; it features ornate matching trim along the edges. There are two open pockets; one on each side. Each is approx. 3 ¼" across & 2" deep.

The condition is near mint, with one marcasite missing. There is a slight variance in the micro beads in areas, mainly along the sides/fringe edge. There doesn't appear to be any beads missing, only a variance of beading, which is to be expected from hand beading. The lining is mint; there are no stains, shredding, etc.; it's stunning!

The purse is 9 ½" long from the frame (not including the cabochon) to the end of the fringe (which is 1 5/8" long). From frame edge to edge, it is 6" across. The gold chain link handle has an approximate 7" drop. The center of the purse is approx. 6 ¾" wide.

This is truly an outstanding and rare purse, which will certainly enhance any collection.
