You are looking at a great looking pair of French First Communion Certificates.
The ornate matching gold Gesso frames compliment the etchings beautifully. The dates of communion hand written on these prints are 1917 and 1919. The earliest date shown is 1908.
The condition is as follows: the gold gilt gesso frames shows darkening in areas, with a teensy bit of green on the gilt (see pic); there are cracks in the gesso frames, along with some missing gesso (I've shown the worst in my pic's). The prints have darkened in areas, & there are some dusty particles under the glass. Considering they are close to 100 years old, I would consider them to be in very good vintage condition. They are much nicer in person.
The frames measure 11 ½" wide x 17 3/4"long. There are hooks on the back of each frame for immediate hanging.
These framed certificates would be perfect for those of you with the Paris Apt./Shabby Chic decor. Of course they would compliment any room/style, as well.
