This large vintage satin glass piece is beautiful; it doesn’t appear to have ever been used.
The original label reads: Cellini, Italy. I am guessing it dates to the 40’s, but I can’t say for sure. It’s definitely a wonderful vintage piece.
I’m not sure what this piece was used for, but I am guessing either a vase or possible a candleholder. Inside, there is a round opening, which is approx. 1 3/8” deep & 4-4 ¼” circumference.
The base/handle is done in a beautiful shade of turquoise blue, with light antique gold trim. Some of the gold is worn off & there is a teensy chip along the base (see last photo).
The large top is white satin glass with three areas of floral decoration (all the same design); it appears to be a transfer & not hand painted. The top rim has antique gold trim, some of which has worn off. The rim is bumpy in a few areas, but this is the way it was made; this is not a flaw. You can’t see it, it’s only when you feel around it. There are two bubbles at the bottom white stem, which is original to the piece and was done during the glass making process.
The approx. dimensions are as follows: 10 ½” tall, 19 ¾” circumference around the middle top portion, and 3 5/8” across the top opening. The blue base is 4 ½” from side to side.
This is really a pretty & very unusual piece. No matter how you use it, you will no doubt love it.
