Vintage Hungarian Hand Made Matyo Lavender Floral Runner with Two Birds in Center

The sides and one of the ends are turned under and hand stitched; the other end is not.

The runner measures 56" long which includes the fringe & 14" wide. The hand stitched runner portion only is 43" long.

The overall condition is quite good, with the following to note: there is a small light yellowish stain above a small area where a small amount of silky threads are missing (see pic). There are areas on the runner with "fuzzy" & loose threads, which I personally feel are quite minor. One fringe end has a few kinks in the silky threads (this may straighten out with a steaming). The other end has some shorter fringe, mainly on each side (see pic). All the imperfections I've noted are relatively minor, especially when you consider the age and the silky threads used.

This vintage handmade Hungarian Matyo runner is truly magnificent, both in color and workmanship; I know the lucky new owner will love it. It could be used as a runner or a wall hanging, but no matter how it's used, it will look great.
