This is such a beautiful framed beadwork piece, which dates to the late 1800's.
The claret red background is red wool needlepoint; the remaining portion is beadwork.
The frame is gold gilt with touches of claret red. There is a paper backing and a wire hanger, so it's all ready to hang.
The entire piece is approx. 10 ½" square. The beadwork only portion is approx. 9 ¼" X 9"; this was taken from the front.
The overall condition is excellent, with the following to note: there is gold gilt missing from one of the inner gold gilt wooden "beads". The frame has a distressed look to it, with lines which appear to be age-related; my guess the frame is vintage and not antique. I don't see any missing beads. There are a few specks of dust underneath the glass, which is very minor.
This is a gorgeous framed antique beadwork piece which will enhance any room.
