Victorian Cranberry Glass Ladies Spittoon

This beautiful little piece of Cranberry glass is what I believe to be a ladies spittoon or cuspidor. It measures just 1.5" tall, just under 2" across the top and 2.5" handle to handle. Back in the Victorian era it was not unusual for a woman to chew tobacco. A ladies spittoon was either a smaller version of the common cuspidor, or as in this case a very small spittoon that she could conceal in her hand. This piece is all hand made. The cranberry glass bowl has a spiral pattern and also a rough pontil mark on the bottom. The clear glass handles are hand made and hand applied.

It is in very good condition, NO CHIPS, CRACKS, STAINS OR REPAIRS. There is a little bit of roughness at the bottom of the handles, this happened when the piece was made.
