Antique Cobalt Pitcher Hand Painted Enameled Butterfly Florals
I bought this beautiful porcelain pitcher over 20 years ago at an antique show. I was told at that time that it was a piece of Minton, but the markings on the bottom do not indicate who made it. I do know that it is very old and beautifully made. This porcelain pitcher is glazed white on the inside and a flow blue type cobalt on the exterior. I say flow blue as you can see thinner glaze on the edges of the handle. It measures 6.5" tall and flares out about 1" at the top. It is over 6" wide at the widest point near the bottom. The front of the pitcher is hand painted and enameled with a large sprig of flowers and a butterfly. On the back is a smaller sprig of flowers. I do apologize for the white glare in my photos. The marks on the bottom are an impressed "HN" and "V3". Also the artists mark "321" in gold.
