This wonderful french bebe was made by Schmitt et Fils, circa 1885. She was on layaway, but unfortunately, the buyer couldn't complete it and has selected another doll. This doll is very large, standing 25" tall, which makes her quite rare. She has a flawless bisque head with no hairlines, blemishes or restoration. She has wonderful pale bisque with huge blue paperweight almond shaped eyes. Her head is pear shaped and quite unusual. She has nicely blushed cheeks and overall excellent quality facial painting. Her face also has impressed dimples on her cheeks. She has a wonderful curly blonde mohair wig, but I also have her original sparse brunette wig that I will include. She even has a rare scull cap (not shown). She is on her original early unique ball jointed body, which bears the shield marking of the firm. She is marked 4 1/2 on the head along with the shield mark. She has wonderful antique undergarments and is dressed in a gorgeous two piece blue dress with jacket, which is adorned with antique lace trim. Her antique bonnet is a lovely compliment to her dress. She has lovely antique leather shoes and white antique earrings. If you do not care for this dress, I also have a wonderful antique swiss dot cotton dress that I purchased her in with matching bonnet. This doll is a hard one to find so don't let her get away. Sterling silver purse is not included. Layaway is available with just $500 down provided the remainder is paid in 24 monthly installments or less.
