This is an amazing exhibition french fashion doll. She stands 35" tall and has a flawless bisque head with no hairlines, repairs or blemishes. She has wonderful pale creamy bisque with blushed cheeks and gorgeous spiral blue paperweight glass eyes. She has a closed mouth with a hint of a smile, pierced ears and her original wheat blonde hand tied human hair wig with cork pate. She is on a large, sturdy kid leather body, with some patching. The fingers and toes are separately stitched. She was purchased from Theriaults and they attribute her maker to be Blampoix in 1860. However, I have similar dolls and have also been told they were made by Bru or Barrois. She is a mystery! She is marked 12 on the back of her head and on her shoulder plate. She is wearing an amazing victorian lawn dress that is gathered and the waist. It is very good quality. She wears a wicker straw hat trimmed with flowers and red velvet tie. She has silk socks and antique satin slippers. Her earrings are newer. She has a marvelous antique brooch that looks like it is silver. She has several layers of antique undergarments. She is an outstanding doll and will grace any fine antique doll collection. The umbrella and purse do not come with the doll. Layaway is available with $400 down provided the remainder is paid in 18 monthly installments or less.
