This automaton was on an extended layaway plan which just fell through due to unforseen circumstances. So, here is available for sale! This awesome automaton is large, standing 23" tall. A gentlemen is standing on a velvet covered base with a cigarette holder in one hand an a wood walking stick in his other hand. When wound he plays music, turns his head and raises the cigarette holder, as if to smoke, and then raises his cane and taps it. He is absolutely wonderful. He has a marked Tete Jumeau head, gorgeous brown eyes, flawless bisque. He was made by Leopold Lambert in 1890. He is redressed in a fabulous ivory silk satin Marquis costume with embroidered detail. The wood walking stick has an embossed brass grip. He has a newer white lambswool wig over his original corke pate. He has a chip one one hand and his movements are fine, but the bellows mechanism is not operating so he cannot smoke a lit cigarette. You can purchase this wonderful piece on layaway with just $500 down provided the remainder is paid in 20 monthly installments or less. You can see him on youtube if you look for my videos under Antiquehuntress100. Or, you can search you tube by entering in smoking, automaton.
