This is a very rare closed mouth german doll made by Ernst Grossman for the french trade between 1880-1890. I have only seen 2 in my 30 years of doll collecting. This beauty stand 17" tall and has wonderful creamy pale bisque with delicate blushing and beautifully formed and painted lips. She has amazing spiral blue glass eyes and nicely formed eye brows. She has some chipped bisque around the opening in her head; however, there are no hairlines coming from it and it doesn't distract from the doll. She is on a german ball jointed composition body, which appears to have some repaint to it. She wears a newer curly blonde mohair wig. She has fabulous layers of antique undergarments, pretty little socks and antique white leather shoes. Her dress was made by Chantilly Lace, who makes one of a kind outfits. It is a nice heavy cotton pink and white striped dress with a pink bow. She wears a necklace with little stars. She is a beautiful doll and you will not want to part with her once you have her! Layaway is available with $300 down provided the remainder is paid in 10 monthly payments or less.
