Large Sterling Silver And Topaz Glass Flower Pin

I don't know if the stone in this piece is glass or really topaz, so I am just going to assume it is glass: it is faceted. The pin is marked Sterling on the back and measures 5" long and 2 1/2" wide. The condition is superb. I believe this pin dates to the late 30's or early 40's.
