Vintage Limoge Handpainted Pitcher with Cherries

This great 10 1/2" bulbous shaped pitcher is beautifully painted with ripe red cherries and blossoms. The artist skillfully painted both sides of this great pitcher to make it both a right, and left handed pitcher.

The pitcher reaches a height of 10 1/2" at the peak. The bulbous shape features intricate swirls near the base and around the entire pitcher.

Beautiful shades of reds, yellows, and pinks, and golds adorn the pitcher. Delicate blooms hang among the berries and beautiful green leaves. A wonderful gold band highlights the rim of the pitcher and the handle.

No artist signature or mark can be found.

Mold marked with GDA over France for Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot, Mark 1, ca.1900-41. Judging by feel and quality, most probably prior to 1920.
