Vintage Ladies Handpainted Tobacco Jar

This beautiful ladies tobacco jar is handpainted with wonderful pansies. Vivid colors of yellow, purple, gold and umber. These magnificent blooms feature excellent coloration and are grouped together against a background of delicate green leaves. Great painting noted to both sides of the container. This great jar stands 5" tall.

The lid features the same beautiful flowers and decoration. Inside the lid are 3 small hooks that would have probably been used to hang the small bags of tobacco or snuff.

I suspect this was a ladies piece since the decoration features such beautiful flowers.

No mold mark can be found, but probably Limoges based on shape and styling.

No artist signature or decorator mark can be found.

In great condition, and a rare find!
