ON SALE NOW!! Absolutely Stunning Porcelain Urn with Gold Gilt
I am so happy to offer this gorgeous porcelain urn. Its shape is exactly like the one pictured from the 2008 Miller's, page 520. That one is Lenox (Ceramic Art Company) painted by William Morley in the early 1900s. This one is 8.5" high, and that one is 13.25" high, but the shape is exactly the same, down to the flourishes on the underside of the upper part of the handles. While there is a mark on the bottom of this, I can't make it out. But, this was absolutely done by a wonderful artist. It features a Chinese red and white background decorated with gilt flowers and pale green and gold acanthus leaf scroll shapes which surround the most stunning pearlized porcelain medallions dotted with gold gilt. There is a medallion (or cartouche) on each side. I had a piece of Coalport at one time which had the same pearlized finish, but, until now, I had not seen another. It is simply breathtaking to look at. Each cartouche is 1.75" high and 1 and 3/8" wide.
I attribute this to Lenox, but I cannot make out the mark--see photo of exact shape found in Miller's 2008, p.520
Condition: other than some rubbed off gilt at the top where there is a black, then a pale green line, this is in mint condition. The gilt is in perfect condition, and the decoration is stunning.
Thanks so much for looking and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
