19th-Century French Lady's Boudoir Mirror, Hand-Decorated

Here is a marvelous object from the well-appointed vanity table of some fine Belle-Epoque lady, who no doubt loved everything feminine, romantic, and hand-made. The wooden body is expertly covered in lavender velvet, outlined in loops of matching piping. The mirror itself is surrounded in layers of lace, set off with a bow and an inner circle of tiny violet and yellow flowers fashioned from crocheted satin. DIMENSIONS: Length, about 10 inches; width, about 5 inches; thickness, about 1/2 inch. CONDITION: Good, with overall patina of usage. The lace is limp in places, and the handle a bit smudged. There is a small drop of wax on the back (see pictures). The mirror is still very clear.
