Madame Alexander Marybel Get Well Doll - With Case

From 1960, this Marybel, "the Doll that Gets Well". She is a 16" rigid vinyl doll that bends at the waist and comes with her original case and most of the original accessories: casts for her legs, casts for her arms, one crutch and a pair of sunglasses. Marybel was designed to help parents ease children through any sort of scarey illness and the inside box graphic has Marybel talking about her experience with measles, her broken arm, her broken leg, and chicken pox. (Today with all those broken body parts, Child Protective Services would be called in! But sweet little Marybel recovers from everything!) She wears her original pink one-piece bloomers with a matching pink cover and pink slippers with white pom poms. The doll is in perfect condition--her rooted golden brown hair in its original style, pulled back from her face with a beautiful single braid down the back. Her cheeks are a pretty pink color and her slightly open mouth is also pink. She has striking amber colored sleep eyes. The case is in somewhat worn condition with tape across the inside cover graphic. The latch works fine though and the handle is also in good working condition. One of her pink felt slippers has dots of rust on it...perhaps from the wire holders in the case. All in all, though, a wonderful vintage Madame Alexander doll.
