COMMENTS: This gorgeous ring dating to the early 1900's Edwardian Era is meticulously crafted in luxurious platinum. It is set with vibrant lively diamonds of nice quality. The center diamond is 1.00 carat and is complimented beautifully by two 0.50ct each accent diamonds. Today this style of setting is referred to as past present and future. The diamonds are securely set, the center diamond has 10 prongs and the side diamonds have 8 prongs each. The diamonds are in a modest low profile setting. The details on the setting are crisp. The center diamond does have a minor chip on the girdle, indicative of age. The chip is not visible to the naked eye. This vintage ring will touch your heart and soul with its timeless beauty. There's something magical about jewelry from another era, with its own story to tell.
In 1901 Edward became the king of England. It was a new century, optimism was high, elegance and sophistication reigned. Diamonds were essential and platinum was the metal of choice. The Edwardian era ushered in a new fondness for femininity, sensuality and playfulness that was shunned during the previous century. The Edwardian Era dovetailed with the French period known as "La Belle Époque" (1895 to 1914), or "the beautiful era" of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Belle Époque period was known for its high-style and the luxuriant lifestyles of the privileged elite who indulged in its exesses.
