COMMENTS: This is a very recognizable brooch often found in reference books on popular & costume jewelry. Recently purchased from a local estate and pictured as we received it. It is in need of some gentle cleaning. The design was patented by Murray Slater in 1946. See reference from James Katz site. This pin has been manufactured by several companies and this is unsigned by the maker. It displays excellent quality and craftsmanship. There are no missing gemstones and all are original to the brooch. The white rhinestones appear to have yellowed but I have not attempted to clean this brooch in any way so I'm not sure if they would clean up. It can be worn with the dagger displayed or in the sheath with a pin back in both pieces.
