Victorian Etruscan Revival Hardstone Cameo Necklace

The frame around the cameo is a wonderful design and done in a gilt metal, possibly gold filled.

The pendant hangs from a delicate gilt metal chain.

The chain measures 18" without the pendant. The pendant measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4". The cameo measures 3/4" by 1/2". I've had someone suggest that there may have originally been a pin and clasp on the back of this piece, which have since been removed. I don't believe this to be the case, but you be the judge.
