Another unique item from my newly acquired vanity collection, this one is a tortoise shell and sterling button hook. How could you ever live without one?
This item was manufactured in London by the prestigious firm of Mappin & Webb. The date mark is somewhat blurry dating it to either 1904 or 1924. It is a very attractive item.
The piece is 8 1/4" in length. On both sides of the handle are inlaid tortoise pique work, in a bow and floral pattern. The shell and inlay are in good condition. There are some minor dents to the silver along the side, commensurate with the age of the piece. The steel hook is a deep almost black color.
Please Note: Tortoise shell cannot be shipped internationally, or to California.
