English Sterling & Tortoise Dresser Mirror With Pique

This very attractive dresser mirror is made from tortoise shell and sterling silver. It was manufactured in Birmingham, England in 1922. It has the British hallmarks for 925 silver(lion), the anchor for Birmingham, and the X for 1922. It also says RD with a series of numbers.

The piece has a gorgeous inlaid silver design resembling a wreath of flowers and would look charming on any lady's dresser.

The mirror measures approximately 10 5/8" in length and has a 6" diameter. It is in wonderful vintage condition. The mirror is beveled and shows no wear to the silvering. There is a minor indentation to the silver on the bottom mirror side, but overall this is is exceptional shape for its age. The tortoise is all intact without any lines or cracks and the pique work is all there.

This is part of a larger collection I recently purchased and had been painstakingly assembled over many years.

Please Note: Tortoise shell cannot be shipped internationally, or to California.
