Charming Decanter With Gilt

This is just such a charming small decanter. Stylistically it appears to date from the 1900's to the 1920's or so. I believe it to be hand blown, with a smoothed pontil, and has hand applied raised gilt decoration on etched or recessed glass where the decoration has been applied.

The piece measures about 6 1/2" high including the bulbous stopper. the base diameter is about 6". The condition is quite good, with some slight gold wear along the bottle rim. I don't know if this is meant for wine or brandy, but I'm sure you'll figure that out. It would make a wonderful addition to your home, or make a thoughtful gift for someone special.
