Here is a beautiful vintage stoneware wax sealer jar! It has a nice design, good color and is in great shape! In "The Old Days" of the 19th and early 20th Centuries, this is way your food purchases at the local store would packaged. Of course, once the food was consumed frugal housekeepers would clean these and reuse them to pack their own "canned goods". This one stands nearly 8 1/2" tall and is over 4" across the top rim, with a 2 5/8" opening. Other than the little "pock marks" all around the body, which are caused by the glaze bubbling up during the firing process, there is one small flake on the inside of the opening and one unglazed spot on the bottom edge. Hey these things are Old and were only meant to be temporary anyway!
A great addition to a stoneware collection! I think this would make an absolutely wonderful Vase for dried arrangements, but it is completely glazed inside and could also hold fresh flowers!
As always, all reasonable offers are welcomed and considered.
Enjoy each day!
