This is a very handsome old Late Victorian era piece. From the ridging inside the body, I would say it was hand thrown and the handles applied. There is extensive moriage type raised detailing on the body and it is completely hand-painted (the layering of the painting on the flowers in combination with the raised detailing has an irresistible tactile feel). It stands 16.5" tall, is is 9" across the top, and 8.25" across the widest point of the base. There are no chips, cracks, flakes or other damage I can detect. Note: the crackle lines shown on the image of the bottom are under the glaze, can not be felt, and do not show on the inside bottom of the vase.

What a wonderful old piece of the past! A sure attention grabber in your home, whatever use to which you choose to put it!
