This is a very nice miniature kerosene or oil lamp from the late 19th century. The face of the thumbwheel is marked, "Pat. Feby 27, 1877". This lamp is pictured in Miniature Lamps by Smith on page 111. It was made by Consolidated Lamp and Glass Co., Pittsburgh, PA, and is listed in their 1894 catalog. In Marjorie Hulsebus's book, Price Guide to Miniature Lamps, 2nd Edition, 2006, it is regarded as Scarce. This lamp is in green milk glass with a nutmeg type burner and clear chimney. It stands a bit over 7 1/2" tall, it is about 4" in diameter at the widest point and is 2 5/8" across the base. It is in excellent condition with no damage I can detect.
A wonderful addition to a collection!
