These handsome cup and saucer sets were produced by Marktrewitz Thomas. The mark on the cup bases indicates dating between 1903 and 1908. The company was purchased by Rosenthal in 1909. They are of hard paste, very thin walled, porcelain and exhibit beautiful translucence. The white porcelain bodies are decorated with gilt grape clusters and fine accent lines. The saucers are simply marked Bavaria. The cups are 3 3/4" across the rims and 2" high, the saucers are 5 5/8" in diameter. There are no chips, flakes, cracks or other damage. There is some minor loss to the gilt in spots.
The price is for all three sets.
