Transfer-ware Plate ~ Brown & Richie Ltd. ~ Mount Vernon

This is a lovely transfer-ware plate with Mount Vernon as the central theme. The brown transfer has been enhanced with splashes of pink, green, blue and yellow color. The plate is 10.25" in diameter. There are no chips, flakes, cracks, crazing or any other damage I can detect. The back is stamped with a shield in which is "Mount Vernon" under a string of stars, underneath which is "George Washington, the first president of the United States and father of our country spent his remaining years at his magnificent Virginia estate.." Underneath and to each side of the shield is "Oven Proof" and Brown & Richie Ltd." I can find no reference to Brown & Richie Ltd. being currently in business, only references to their lines being "discontinued".
