c1893 Floral Yard Long Print Chrysanthemums Maud Stumm Flower Chromolithograph Art Interchange
This grand old yard long print is just stunning and a lovely gift item for birthdays and Mother's Day! The artwork is by the Victorian artist, Maud Stumm (a peer of both Paul de Longpre and Catherine Klein), and showcases a cascading study of multi-colored chrysanthemums. The color hues are just beautiful, as bright as the day it was printed, and so much prettier than the photos show. It is signed lower left. The print was made by the Art Interchange Company of New York in 1893. This antique chromolithograph yard long print is framed in a quarter-sawn oak frame with lovely minial ray details. At each corner is a burnished brass embellishment with delicate flowers and scrollwork.
The print is in near FINE condition with just a hint of a bend through the far right pink mum, hardly seen and lays very flat, but mentioned for accuracy. The frame is also in VG++ condition, and both display handsomely. These old yardlongs work work over doorways, kitchen nooks, and are a wonderful focal piece for any flower print collection. Overall size is 8.75 x 36.25 inches. We do welcome all layaways, so have a peek in our shop where you can often combine items to save postage!
