c1883 FLY FISHING Engraving Print Creel Net Rod Reel Man Cave Art Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper

This fantastic 1883 engraving is taken from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, and is dated June 23, 1883. It is a magnificent depiction of fly fishing in Victorian times.

The engraving is just beautiful, with strong colors and superb details. The man hold a net, while his female companion casts her fly. It's a wonderful action engraving, set in the wooded pine hills of Maine. There is a creel on a rock outcropping nearby at the lady's feet, and speaking of feet, she wears high button shoes! The sharpness and color hues are so much richer in person (as engravings are hard to photograph).

The overall size is aprox 10 x 15.5 inches, near mint condition, perfect for the cabin, Man Cave, lodge decor. I do not have any duplicates of this one, and it is rare as can be!
