ISOLDE Earrings Green Nephrite Jade Celtic Medieval Style Pewter & Silver
The heart-shaped pendants feature a Celtic pattern that would have been worn during Isolde's time, approximately the 6th century, in lead-free pewter. The heart pattern is intertwined 4 times in the pendant.
The earring chain features clusters of 4mm. round beads of green nephrite jade, a total of 16 in the pair, worked on sterling silver-filled pins and bead accents. They hang from sterling silver French hooks and include rubber stoppers for security. They measure 2" total, and 1 & 3/8" without the wires.
Perfect for Renaissance or Celtic Faires, these are also a very sumptuous and distinctly Irish Medieval pair of earrings for everyday wear. Wear them with a simple long dress and feel like one of the most legendary heroines of European romance!
The painting is "Tristan and Isolde and the Potion" by the Pre-Raphaelite painter John Waterhouse. In the legend, Isolde's mother, a famed enchantress, gives Isolde a magic potion to share with her betrothed King so they will love each other forever. Falling in love with Tristan on the voyage from Ireland to Britain, Isolde shares the potion with him instead. Their story ends in tragedy but has endured for 1500 years.
All metals used are sterling silver and sterling silver-filled, except the pewter chandeliers, and all nephrite jade is genuine.
