The late painter and author Pauline Campanelli was greatly admired by many in the arts colony of Woodstock where I live. One of her most famous series of paintings was "Rose Berries" - a deceptively simple branch spray of deep red berries against a background of natural wood tones. I've crafted these new earrings with that color palette in mind.
The gems are precious opaque rubies, clear burgundy garnets and brown smoky quartz, in a cascade style. The bottom smoky quartz teardrop smooth briolettes are 22mm. They are accented by 4mm. faceted smoky quartz rounds and rondelles, 4mm. faceted ruby rondelles, 4mm. faceted garnet rounds, bevelled 4.5mm. garnet coins, and 9mm. faceted marquise-shaped garnet briolettes. All are worked on sterling silver-filled pins to sterling silver rolo chain.
They hang from sterling silver beaded post wires, and measure 2.25" long. I can change these to sterling leverbacks if you prefer. Smoky quartz is a naturally occurring semi-precious mineral gemstone, not a lab-grown glass.
I've crafted custom orders with these with green gems added to reflect the colors of the original painting. Please email me if you are interested.
The scan does not begin to show the richness of the deep reds, cranberry and smoky brown tones of these earrings.
