Lady of Shalott Linear Earrings Moss Agate Silver Celtic Medieval Style
I've crafted this very feminine pair of earrings in the Celtic Medieval style of Arthurian Britain to remember this immortal story. The simple linear style features sterling silver Celtic 'triquetra' interweave connectors, accented with 8mm. round and 12mm. cylindrical beads of moss agate. This is a very lovely agate, a water-green shade with darker striations of moss-like inclusions that always remind me of seaweed in shallow water. They hang from sterling silver French hook wires with a matching granulated beaded pattern, and measure 2.75" total, and 2 & 1/8" without the wires.
I've always crafted my Lady of Shalott earrings in moonstones and water-colors, but for these I'm following the more earthy green tones of the gorgeous painting shown in the last scan. This is one in an Arthurian series by the brilliant young Woodstock artist Bayla Laks, who I am honored to call a friend. Her work is copyrighted and may not be reproduced without her written permission. Thank you, my Lady!
The retail value of these earrings in a good historical jewelry catalogue would be approximately $65, but they would not be handcrafted like these.
All metals used are sterling silver, except the jewelry wire in the round moss agate which is sterling silver filled, and the moss agate is genuine.
