Vintage Glass Rosary Box Case Jesus Crowned with Thorns
We offer a vintage glass and metal rosary box or case showing Christ crowned with thorns on the lid. The little box is in very good condition with the exception of a bit of corrosion on the lid. The lid is a silvertone metal. The box is a pink hued glass. The picture is done on celluloid. I imagine this held a lovely little rosary when first sold. We have several in the shop that would be quite nice for this box. Although not marked, I'm pretty sure the box is originally from Italy.
It measures approx 1 3/8 inch wide by 1 5/8 inch tall and about 3/8 inches thick. The hinge works well. The box closes with a snap and stays closed. This is a true old treasure and will be a welcome gift for a Catholic friend.
