Abalone Shell Tatting Shuttle

We offer an old tatting shuttle made of polished abalone shell. It is in very nice condition with both points nice and tight. It is approx 2 5/8 by 13/16 inch. It is about 3/8 inches thick.

Tatting is getting lots of attention lately. Many younger women are interested in learning this ages old way to make lace. Intricate lacy patterns have adorned collars and cuffs and linens for 100's of years.
