Victorian Large Cameo Gold Frame

We offer an old cameo carved beautifully. I don't don't know if it is shell or hardstone. From the color, I lean towards hardstone, but I'm not an expert. The frame is unmarked, but it tests at least 10K. The cameo is cracked. It is difficult to see from the front but there is a very, very old repair on the back of the cameo. The face and figure are not damaged by the crack. She is gorgeous with her feather in her air and roses on her shoulders. Her features are finely carved and lovely.

This is in the box I purchased if in from the estate sale. In the box with the cameo was a small cloth bag with a sticker that says French Cameo, Very Old.

The pin measures approx 1 3/4 by 2 1/8 inch. I think the pin clasp is a replacement. The pin is a base metal, not gold. I imagine originally it had the old fashioned loop clasp.

Even with the damage, this is an exquisite cameo to add to your collection, or just a lovely one to wear if you are dressing to that era. Price reflects the condition. Without the damage, it would be priced many times higher.
