Westmoreland's Coin Dot Marigold Carnival Bowl
This is Westmoreland's coin dot marigold carnival bowl. Fenton also made a coin dot pattern in carnival but their pattern has stippled dots and Westmoreland's are smooth. I do have a slightly larger Fenton bowl, 1" wider and 1" shorter, that I will be listing soon. . This Westmoreland bowl measures 8 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/4" tall. It has no chips or dings but it is chock-full of straw-marks and the bowl also has multiple pin and pencil point specks that look like rust marks in a section of the bowl that would be about 1/5 of the bowl. It looks like a foreign substance got into the process that they used to give it its iridescent quality. There is also a rough, flattened spot, about 3/8" long, on the upper rim of the bowl that looks like it was pressed up against something while the glass was still hot and malleable. Still a nice bowl to add to your collection. Happy Collecting!!!!
