Doll in Traditional Costume with Lots of Detailing by AM 20"

Perhaps this is a "Kleine Madchen" from somewhere in Bavaria? Alsace Lorraine? Anyway, this is one of the ubitiquous AM 390 dolls that every collector needs one of and often starts out with. This particular example is a nice size (20"). Her bisque is pleasant and her face is appealing. Her costume is great and consists of a antique hat, skirt, apron, slip, bodice and blouse or guimpe. Around her neck is a gold cross. There is ethnic detailing by way of trim and embroidery. Her shoes are not the original as she came unshod. The shoes I put on her are not too great and too big. You will want to find some more authentic ones. Her wig is messy (I don't do hair). I tried to do something with it but if you saw my own hair, it would explain everything. Anyway, the wig is older but not mohair or human hair. Her chocolate brown glass eyes do not sleep anymore. Her body is the typical one used by this company and uses the elongated upper thighs. (So they could say the doll was bigger). The forearms show some wear. This is a pretty girl in great antique clothes for someone wanting to start or add to a costume collection of bisque dolls.
