Wedgwood Basket form Dish ca. 1880

This Wedgwood basket form dish has transfer floral design with hand painted coloring added over the transfer. The design is of a mixed bouquet, painted in a variety of colors. Additional floral motifs appear on the exterior.

Impressed WEDGWOOD mark, A, 3BM, painted mark C3887/P (probably decorator's mark, with the "C" prefix possibly indicating an ornamental shape of queensware). The impressed number does not seem to fit the Wedgwood scheme of date marks, so it may be a shape number. Size: Approximately 8" long, 6" wide, 5" high.

Condition: Dot of green enamel flaked off handle top. No other chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
