"Stone China" Well and Tree Platter ca. 1825

Just imagine roast goose or a turkey on this large blue and white platter circa 1825 (or if you eat out, use it for display as the center of your blue and white collection). This piece is English, but the transfer decoration was adapted from the Chinese export "Canton" and "Nanking" designs. The center features typical pagoda in landscape, with a spear or leaf border and all over diapered pattern on shoulder.

In spite of the prominent printed mark, I am unable to attribute this yet to a specific manufacturer. During this "early ironstone" period, many manufacturers used this descriptive on their wares.

Size: 20.5" by 15.5"; 2.75" high.

Condition: Excellent. Very slight wear to gilt edge, no chips cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
