I believe these plates are continental, possibly French. They have a brilliantly colored hand-painted border of poppy-type flowers, with a similar spray in the center, along with gilt bands. Slightly thick body; I would date these to the 1850 period. No mark, other than what is likely a pattern number painted on the backs.
Size: Approximately 7.5" diameter.
Condition: Some wear to decoration, but no chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
