Caughley Bowl ca. 1790

Caughley, also known as Salopian, was an English manufacturer in the late 18th century, Their items were primarily tea wares, and designs were similar to those of Worcester and others. This unmarked waste bowl is attributed to Caughley (based on matching marked coffee cup).

This bowl has a dark blue band around the upper interior, with a gilt rope design over, and gilt leaf sprays in bottom and exterior. The form is fluted, with scalloped edge.

Size: Approximately 6" top diameter, 3" high.

Condition: Excellent, with only minimal wear to gold. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
