Caughley (Salopian) Blue and White Dish ca. 1790

This low dish was probably meant for biscuits as part of a tea service. Printed in underglaze blue with a scene of a fisherman (this pattern is known also as "Pleasure Boat"). Marked with underglaze "S".

Size: Approximately 7.5" diameter, 1.5" deep.

Condition: Excellent. A spot of glaze rub on rim you can feel, rather than see, and some very light glaze scuffing on interior. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
