Davenport Blue and White Basket circa 1825

These fruit baskets allowed grapes or other fruit to drain, and the air circulation prevented mold. These fruit baskets are rare survivors. This Davenport example has foliage print borders inside and out, and an oriental fantasy landscape on floor.

Impressed early version of the Davenport name and anchor mark, also a label from a previous owner, apparently clipped from a catalog (with a penciled price of 38.00). Obviously a very old catalog!

Size: Approximately 10.75" x 7", 3" high

Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.

Item ID: 3391
