Fluted form round dish, with cobalt and gilt decoration. Marked with under glaze blue "S" mark (Salopian) on bottom. The Caughley ware marked "S" was primarily teawares. An assortment of items in this pattern are shown in Godden's "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain" on page 55, photo 101. I also have a matching bowl in my shop inventory.
Condition: Some wear to gilding on edges of scallops and floor. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Size: Approximately 7.375" diameter.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
