Ridgway Oxford Views Platter ca. 1835

This blue and white Staffordshire platter is part of the "Oxford Views" series by Ridgway, circa. 1835. This series features scenes of landmarks in octagonal frames occupying most of the flat area, with a border of floral motifs and cartouches with classical scenes. This particular scene is Wadham College, and is indicated in the printed backstamp.

Size: Approximately 17" long, 12.75" wide.

Condition: Good. Some surface scratches/utensil marks on front, crazing on back. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
