Small Shell-form Staffordshire Dish circa 1845
This little piece of transferware was probably meant as a pickle dish. The shape is a finely detailed shell form, and the blue transfer is of the "Abbey Ruins" type. Unmarked, but Staffordshire, circa 1845.
Size: Approximately 5.25" long, 4.375" wide.
Condition: Small flake on edge furthest from handle.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
