Cut Glass Compote

Antique cut glass compote with a band of fluting around upper rim, swag and star cutting in bowl, panel cut stem and star cutting on base. Lovely bell tone when tapped. Probably made at the end of the brilliant period (circa 1900)when designs became more restrained and influenced by English cut glass. No signature.

Note: International shipping is not available fo this item.

Size: Approximately 5.125" high, 8.75" diameter

Condition: Very good. Some light use scratches inside bowl, and a minute flaw from either a burst bubble or being hit with a spoon in center of bowl interior. An opaque white speck of something was caught inside glass when made. No other chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
