Barr Period Worcester Oval Covered Sugar circa 1800

This Barr period Worcester white porcelain oval covered sugar (or sucrier) is decorated in a grape pattern. Border has a grape and leaf design in deep brown (with purple cast), with tendrils and bands of gilt. Molded ring "handles" at ends. Marked with incised "B" (mark used 1792-1804) on both base and lid.

Size: Approximately 5.5" long, 4.5" wide, 5.5" high.

Condition: Wear to gilding, particularly around base and on finial. Faint line in lid No other chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
